Cuestars Saturday Sections enable children to play on a full size snooker table. At these Sections, new players are shown the snooker basics, shown how to conduct themselves in the Snooker Club environment and are introduced to competition play.
A Coaching Programme is also provided, which offers Saturday Section players a structured approach to learning snooker. There are 10 levels to the programme with the first level aimed at the beginner and the final level aimed at the player capable of making 100 breaks.

The Cuestars Coaching Programme offers Cuestars Players a structured approach to learn about the game of snooker. There are 10 levels to the programme with the first level aimed at the beginner and the final level aimed at the player capable of making 100 breaks. The programme is designed to compliment other coaching that may be provided.
To ensure that all players have a good chance of competition success, upon becoming a member of Cuestars, each player is awarded a handicap.
The 'Handicap Awarded' is, to begin with, based on the players highest Break and then can be adjusted based on results achieved or new highest breaks made.
"The highest break deemed by Cuestars is a players highest break made against an opponent in a frame of snooker. This can be in a match or practice frame and can even have been made in a frame of snooker where the reds are struck from behind during the break off shot".
To monitor performance achieved, handicap rating points are awarded in Cuestars competitions as follows: - Last 128 + 3 pnts, Last 64 + 2 Pnts, Last 32 + 1 point, Last 16 no points, Quarter -1 point, Semis -2 pnts, R-Up -3 pnts, Winner -5 pnts
The rating points are then combined with the 'Handicap Awarded' to achieve a 'Handicap Rating' score. If you have a Cuestars Ratings and you find your 'Handicap Rating' is 7 points lower than your current Handicap then expect, subject to not being off scratch or -14, your handicap to be cut by 7 points for your next competition.
If however, you find your 'Handicap Rating' exceeds your current handicap by 7 points or more then you can, subject to a maximum Handicap of 70, request in writing for your handicap to be increased by 7 points.
